“You might ask why we would want to grow vegetables in the market and not just out on the farm. There is a reason. Most people do not realize that fresh salads lose all their nutrient value within 5 days of being cut. The Harvard Medical School Center for Health and Global Environment calls this degenerative process “Respiration.” Think about that. Most of the salads that you can buy in supermarkets in New Jersey have been grown and harvested in California. Think how many days it takes to harvest the salad, wash and clean them, package them, put them in cases, put those cases on trucks, transport them across the country, put them in a large distribution warehouse in New Jersey, then have a truck bring them to a specific store, then have them taken off the truck, put in the back room then take them out of the back room and put on the shelf, and then have the shopper bring it home. It is hard to imagine how that could all be accomplished in 5 days. I think it is more like 15 days realistically but certainly not 5. So what is the significance? Those salads that you are serving your family or eating in a restaurant are really dead green cellulose not healthy nutrient-dense salads. That is why we are growing them hydroponically in the store. We can have one of our personnel cut the salad and package it for you when you are in the store. If you bring it home that day and serve it that night you are serving that salad at its peak nutrient density to your family. We think this is really something special.

Now let me show you how our hydroponic garden works. It is really very simple. We have these long tubes with a medium inside the tube that holds on to moisture and we have this slit in the tube. We stick transplants in the tube that are fertilized by a constant stream of fertilized water trickling over them. The fertilizer that we use in the water is certified organic not anything else. Remember there is no food you will find in our store that has ever touched a pesticide, an herbicide, Round Up or any other kind of artificial chemical. We are strictly certified organic from the farm to your table. No GMO’s either. NO EXCEPTIONS. So these lettuces, kale, spinach grow out of the tube because of their exposure to this fertilized water and when they reach peak bloom, are they cut and taken home by you to eat that night. You could not be serving your family healthier salads.
